Craziest of Fad Diets (Don't try this at home!)

Foods That Rhyme?!

I made up this crazy "fad diet" to illustrate how silly (and even dangerous) some fad diets can be. This one is definitely way out there. Only foods that rhyme?

Surely no one would ever try a diet this crazy. What kind of sense does that make? But, we need to ask the same question about a lot of fad diets. What kind of sense does it make?

How about Ruffles & truffles? Apples & Snapples, rice & ice, lime & thyme?

Got any other silly ideas for foods that rhyme? Let us hear your suggestions.

Comfort Food

The pleasant aroma and pleasing texture of comfort foods
triggers fond memories.

I have two comfort foods: French fries and chocolate pie. I know they have little nutritional value, but that doesn't seem to matter much. I'm not sure what subliminal memories I may be harboring, perhaps from my childhood, but I do remember there were never quite enough home-made French fries to go around at our house when I was growing up and chocolate pie was a rare treat. These "foods" still hold an unusual and illogical, if not mysterious, appeal for me. We eat for many different reasons and hunger is often not at the top of the list. Comfort is one of the common reasons.

What are your comfort foods?

Table Salt

Consuming too much salt compromises our health.
A few inventive ideas for using that extra salt in our kitchens:

Enjoy a little salt for flavor, but not too much!
Salt is a flavoring agent and a preservative. It's definitive property is "saltiness." Nothing else is like it.
